I’ll give you just a few examples why Mondly can be the best choice for you:Ī lot of people have a hard time finding an app to help them learn a specific language. Just found your questions and would love to answer them.Įven though I'm biased, let me give you my 2 cents on Duolingo vs Mondly. On the web site there is a way to change the difficulty from beginner to intermediate to advanced but even changing that setting, the format stays the same and frankly has become boring.Ī nice thing about Mondly is it provides access to language learning for a much more wider net of languages than Duolingo does. I found the format to get tiring and bored after 2 years with the German side. I have to repeat it 3 times then it just says "Let's move on". Mondly has "voice recognition" across all languages (I believe) but in my experience about 9 times out of 10, especially on the French side, it does not recognize what I say. Both in French and German they use extremely long sentences with vocabulary that has not been introduced, ever! Also I have found the "conversation" part of each lesson/topic to be extremely long. Sadly, There is no option to slow down the speaker or the dialogue like there is on Duolingo. It is very hard in this respect for beginners. For example in the parts where you type what they say in French or translate from English to French, or vice versa. However, at least on the French side, many of the dialogues are spoken extremely fast. I feel the audio for both languages is good, especially compared to Duolingo. I have no experience with French and officially I have taken the A2 for German. I have been using the premium version for part-time study and practice of German for 2 years and French for 6 months. Just thought I would add my two cents re: Mondly Languages review.
